Earth Day in Costa Rica

Earth Day in Costa Rica

Happy Earth Day from Costa Rica! There was an impulse buy before taking off, and it the night before for the flight (shoutout to Adorama)… the Insta360 OneX2, my first 360 camera! It promises to be an innovative storytelling tool for future adventures.

Enjoy the view in my first Youtube Short, then take it for a spin with the Reel:

Seen in the videos is Monteverde’s Cloud City Rainforest, whose beauty is only rivaled by the world’s most adventurous zipline built-in. Monteverde was the first place in the world to establish a zipline tour, in the early 90s when tourism was booming to see Cloud Forest, pictured here, when a group of entrepreneurs made it happen. Its majestic  terrain is perfect to inspire such a big idea.

I recent is not getting offered tour’s premium the GoPro video option, just to relive the view of soaring so far, especially for the “flying squrrel” option on the last line, where they offer you to ride on your belly, arms ahead like a superhero. The 360 camera was still too new and critical to the overall adventure to potentially sacrifice in this grasp for the most epic shot.

Fun fact: “Pura Vida” means “simple life” or pure life. It is more than just a saying in Costa Rica thought, it is a way of life. Costa Ricans (Ticos) use it o say hello, goodbye, going great, and everything’s cool, or even the things that are not cool, but happened. It’s not quite an Aloha, but seems familiar.

There may time to post more in the future, as we are already prepping for a bigger adventure back in the states, but this is a beautiful country with lovely people and I hope you will all be able to visit someday. Warm ocean water is worth the travel!
